Well we made it to Cusco. That was one long bus ride. 1000kms in 24 hours. But we had nice seats so it wasnt that bad. Andrea´s stomach is feeling much better, she was bouncing off the walls. The bus ride wiped us out, the road wasnt very straight. Made it hard to sleep.
We got off the bus and wow the air is very thin. Cuscu sits at about 11500 feet and Mount Everest base camp is about 12000 feet. It is hard to explain what it feels like trying to adjust. Your heart rate doubles to try and get mor air, and stairs even seem hard to climb. But after some Coca tea and a good night sleep, feeling much better.
I just finished a book called ´´Into thin air´´ before coming to Peru. Its about climbing Everest. The writer writes about the altitude and how it affects your body, but it doesnt even compare to reading about it till you experience it.
We Andrea and I are doing good and are planning our trip to Machu Pichu. James and Kati arrive in Cuscu today for Kati birthday and to spent time with her family.
Talk later
Anthony and (above the weather) Andrea.
