These pictures are from Ariquepa at an alpaca factory. We did a tour to see how the wool was taken from the alpacas/llamas and then processed to the final product. We first started at the farm where we fed the animals alfelfa. The first two pictures is of us feeding them and then posing and then the llama wanted to kiss me but he had the worst, stinky breath possible and i was scared he was going to spit on me!! The next picture is all the alpaca fur being sorted from finest quality to poorest. And then finally, how the different types of wool is colored using natural products to dye the wool. Generally, the people would grind whatever herb or product they were using and then put it into a pot and boil it with the wool. Then the last picture is of a mother (and her child) weaving with the wool.
